The story of Michelle from the little girl growing up in the southside of Chicago who was always asking "Why can't I?", through her teenage years, on to Princeton, Harvard Law School to a successful career as a corporate lawyer and eventually becoming First Lady. Twenty-two original songs; from the powerfully defiant My Name Is Robinson when she is told by a counsellor that she is not Princeton material to the love duet with Barack Can This Be That Moment? Then the title song Yes I Can! when she decides to support Barack's decision to run for President although she hates politics; I'll Never Quit when she is maligned by the right-wing press as she campaigns for her husband; and a foot-stomping, hand-clapping dance number to end the musical Just Say "Yes I Can!" sure to have the audience joining in!
