The Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation Chief and Council in partnership with the National Capital Commission (NCC) and Omàmiwininì Pimàdjwowin - The Algonquin Way Cultural Centre/Museum, will be hosting the Kabeshinàn Minitig Pavilion on Victoria Island until November 2017 in the National Capital.The Pavilion exhibit will involve both archaeological artifacts that underscore this area, the National Capital Region, as an original and central trading place for numerous Indigenous people over the centuries. The Ottawa area with its meeting point of three major rivers, the Ottawa, the Gatineau, and the Rideau, which in earlier times were the Algonquin Highways, made the area an important gathering and trading centre.The Kabeshinàn Minitig Pavilion will host many of the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation artists/crafts people along with featured Indigenous Artists in both visual arts and fine crafts from across turtle island throughout the summer months.The Pavilion is located behind 150 Middle Street in the Stone Annex at 2 Timberslide Street on Victoria Island off Booth Street, Ottawa Ontario.
