Jane Bunnett and Maqueque

October 19, 2016 8:00 pm. With her all-female Afro-Cuban jazz group, JUNO-winning Jane Bunnett heats up the stage to a thundering beat. The flute and saxophone master has spent much of her career studying in Cuba, and now five vibrant musicians from the island join her under the name Maqueque (pronounced Mah-Keh-Keh) to deliver some of the most passionate rhythms in the Americas. Boasting four JUNOs and two Grammy nominations, Bunnett is truly at the top of her game, bringing her spirited Latin music to the winter-weary world. Rolling bongos and soothing vocals compliment Jane's winding woodwind solos until they speak to your soul, leaving you with a renewed zest for life.Jane Bunnett and Maqueque will be celebrating the launch of their new album Oddara, which means "forever strong and happy" in the Afro-Cuban language.. 245 Centrum BoulevardOttawa, ON K1E 0A1..
