Green Thumbs Club - Sensational Seeds!

One of the most popular kids’ events of the season at Pinhey’s Point has been the Green Thumbs Club! Get your kids interested in gardening this Wednesday August 24 as Pinhey’s Point Historic Site. Bring your budding young green thumbs to the historic estate at 1:00 p.m., to spend the afternoon in the garden discovering the importance of plants and flowers and how to care for them. This week’s games, activities, and crafts will be focused around Sensational Seeds! When the late Hamnett Pinhey settled on the banks of the Ottawa River in the 1820s, he lived off the land and depended on his gardens as well as other wildlife for survival. Today, the landscape, gardens and lush vegetation of his estate looks much as it once did, which is one of the main reasons the Pinhey’s Point Historic Site is so special. The museum is located at 270 Pinhey’s Point Road, in Dunrobin, off of 6th Line Road. Cost is $6/child, ages 6-12. For more information about this or any of Pinhey’s Point summer programming call 613-832-4347 or visit ottawa.ca/museums Reservations are required. Program is delivered in English by bilingual staff. 270 Pinhey’s Point Road
